HINET announced on July 1, 2026, that msa.hinet.net will no longer provide email forwarding services without verification codes or passwords. Since spam verification machines now require reverse authentication/SPF/DKIM/DMARC mechanisms, forwarding is no longer a necessary option.

It is recommended to remove the sending gateway settings and configure the mail server to send emails directly.

This vulnerability doesn't involve a direct remote attack. Instead, if the attacker already has a low-privilege account on the local machine, they can potentially escalate privileges to root. Ubuntu has officially announced CVE-2026-31431, and the affected component is the Linux kernel's algif_aead module. Ubuntu has also implemented a kmod update to disable this module as a mitigation measure.

Currently, no issues are found with the following modules in HeXiang Information's products: [Email Server, Email Archive Server, Firewall].
